The course is marshalled at junctions and partially marked up to assist navigation.
It is suitable for all levels of runner. Challenging for the experienced runners and a great introduction to hill running for new runners.

Route Description
Flat start becoming a fast predominantly downward sloping opening mile where you can challenge your 1 mile/1.6 km PB.
Turn right onto Birchover Lane upon which you then reach the 1st bump of the day of 0.16 mile/0.26 km with a 262 ft/80 m climb.
At the top of the hill a turn left onto a public footpath into a few rolling fields to recover, before a sharp drop back down to the A5056 road.
Care needed here when running and crossing to Dudwood Lane for a slightly mean 0.5 mile/0.88 km incline with a 94 ft/30 m climb up to the Winster Lane crossing.
Cross the road onto Islington Lane (an unmetalled track) and catch your breath for 657 ft/200 m before the final short climb.
At the top is the welcomed sight of the Miners Standard pub to your left (but you need to keep going).
The final 875 yards/800 m is a mad dash downhill through the village, via East Bank, ending a few meters before the Bowling Green pub.
